Marine & Adrien intimate ceremony in Venice

In a year as stormy as 2020 that saw the city completely empty due to restrictions, I was really happy to be able to meet this young French couple, who, despite the COVID19 pandemic, chose to come to Venice to celebrate their wedding. I love simple and genuine things as well as Adrien and Marine, who have chosen to get married with an intimate and private ceremony, without guests. I often photograph this type of ceremony, so-called elopment. I find them even more beautiful than the traditional ones, because it is precisely the authenticity of the emotions that stand out, without any interference and in the most absolute simplicity. A great opportunity to go back to shoot in the city. For travel, the couple decided to take advantage of the convenience of the water taxi. We reached Palazzo Cavalli passing through small canals and streams and after the ceremony we continued to the San Marco basin. The fastest way to enjoy all the beauty of the palaces and monuments of the Grand Canal.

In this period, especially in the marriage sector, the restrictions have been many. Many of my shots are testimony to this, among the many limitations, to the constant presence of the masks, which somehow force us to look straight in the eyes, making the nuances of our emotions stand out even more. Each shot wants to tell without filters the most important moments plus those small details that make memories permanent. Like the tattoo that they both wanted to show me and which represents the symbol of infinity, a symbol also recalled by Marine’s pendant. Or Adrien’s colorful bow tie. Marine’s ankle bracelets. Their beautiful wooden wedding ring box. All details that told their story.
